Shinnenkai is always a special opportunity for us to experience the talents of our community but Sunday’s event, planned carefully by Karen Inouye, was truly extraordinary! Thank you to our performers, emcee, audience, and everyone that helped set up or clean-up afterwards. Please contact Joan Matsuoka or Karen Inouye if you would like to check out a DVD Joan recorded. Roy Adam has posted some good videos on our Facebook Page as well.
Penny Fujii’s Service
There will a small gathering of Penny Fujii’s family and friends this Friday at 10:30 at Sunset View Cemetery for the placement of ashes. If you want to participate, please join us at 10:15 at the reception area at Sunset View Cemeterey.
Need some time to think?
Come to the Mid-Winter Retreat Jan. 14 (Saturday) 9-11 am. This gentle retreat talent will provide a great opportunity for you to think about your personal life during 2016 and your hopes for 2017, in the context of your faith. It will offer you a quiet time for personal and spiritual reflection. Most of the time you will consider a series of mid-winter images and open-ended questions that will serve as prompts for you to pray, think, and write about. Beverages and a light snack will be provided. I think you will enjoy this a lot; so please sign-up soon.
This Sunday I will preach on the Gospel of John, John 1:29-42, in which Jesus invites his first disciples. Afterwards, the Women’s Fellowship will gather. Please contact Joan or the office if you have questions. The more the merrier!
