Greetings Sycamore Family,
It is my great pleasure to invite you to my Ecclesiastical Council on March 10, 2018!
I first joined Sycamore as a member after a few months of attendance in November of 2013. As a seminary student at Pacific School of Religion, you fully embraced me and stuck with me and my budding ministry as I became a lay leader, preached a few sermons, became a Member in Discernment, and planned the 2014 Maundy Thursday service. Several of you attended my graduation and several others have been my spiritual support system
as I continued on my journey through a chaplaincy residency, the Member in Discernment process, and being a lay leader in my local church near Seattle. You have also welcomed me back as I visit 2-3 times a year including the Annual Bazaar, All Church Picnic, and Christmas.
An Ecclesiastical Council is the last step of the Member in Discernment process in our Conference (the Northern California Northern Nevada Conference) and in our Association (the Bay Association). It is a time when the local church member can participate in the final examination of candidates for ministry.
I will be sharing the day with two other candidates who also attended the Graduate Theological Union for seminary and are active within their local church.
In preparation for our Ecclesiastical Council’s, we have prepared ordination papers. Each of us has done so through a discernment process and much prayer.
The following are the links to our papers, click on each of our names and you should be taken to our respective papers.
Jillian Hutton (Sycamore UCC)
I would love to have you join me and my fellow candidates for this event:
March 10, 2018
In order for us each to be confirmed as Ordination Pending Call, we must have a quorum (over 1/3) of the churches in our area present and vote Yes!
Please join me on this special day!
